How to fix Shortcut Virus in Pendrives??? By: Unknown No comments

USB or Pendrives are the new form of transferring data from one PC to another. There is a very big chance to exchange virus due to this transfer of Data and One such kind of irritating virus is that Shortcut Virus. It has become most common virus and its Irritating. Sometimes you may have to format your USB's or sometime it can Crash your Drive!

So i am here to give you guys a solution for that! There are two methods to solve this issue:

First Method : Command Prompt Method!

1. Plug in your USB or Pendrive or Flash Drive.
2. Know your Drive's letter. (i.e: H/I/K) Whatever your PC shows.
    If you dont know where to look. Just goto MY COMPUTER. There you will find your Pendrive.         Along with your Pendrive's name there will be a letter within brackets. That is the letter your looking for.
3. After you find your letter. Goto Start type cmd (If it is Windows 7. If it is XP find Command Prompt) Then right Click on cmd and then select Open as Administrator.
4. Now enter the following Command in the Command Prompt Window 
                attrib -h -r -s /s /d k:\*.*
     Here you should replace the letter k with your drive's letter.
5. After the process is finished Go and Check your Drive you will find the files back to normal.

Second Method : Software Method!

Here we are going to use a great software called USB Fix. Its a great software for cleaning shortcut virus and it can also be used for other virus related problems.

1. Firstly download the software from the given link
    USB Fix 2016 V8.147.exe
                    or
    USB Fix 2016 V8.147.exe
2. Install it. (If your Antivirus detects this software as threat. Then disable it for few minutes!)
3. If you any programs running save it and close it. Cause if this software starts then it will close all the programs which are running. If you haven't close the programs you may loose unsaved data.
4. Connect your affected USB to computer.
5. Then Open the Software and Choose Clean.
6. It automatically checks your USB and cleans your shortcut virus.
7. After it Completes the process restart your computer. It makes changes in windows directory and until you restart your computer, your computer will not work properly.

Now Enjoy your Virus free Pendrive!
